NVIDIA GT 710: Your cheapest gaming graphics card

msi gt 710The latest generation graphics card prices are increasingly high. Especially if you want to use it to build a PC gaming that is able to play the latest games. Thanks to the increasing demand or hardware specifications of the latest games, the funds required will also increase. If you want to play the latest games with high graphics quality, then be prepared to spend the savings only for one component only, the graphics card!

The option to use an economical graphics card is of course available. However, do not expect he can play AAA caliber games with high settings. Then, what about the cheap graphics card newly released lately, Nvidia GT 710? Can the graphics card that has entered into this super economical category, when compared with other graphics card line, to play the latest games?

this time we do not expect to succeed in getting a high setting or a great resolution. However, we want to show you what kind of playing experience generated by GT 710, the lowest which in fact only worth around 50 dollars.

The games we will use to play with the GT 710 are the latest top-of-the-line games, Rise of The Tomb Raider, Call of Duty Black Ops 3, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. For Rise of The Tomb Raider , we still feel pretty sure of its playability, because this game has a high scalability; meaning he can lower the quality of graphics so that even lower-class graphics cards can play it. However, another problem with Assassin’s Creed Syndicate! This game is so cruel to draw power from the graphics card and we predict it will not run well on the GT 710!

Rise of The Tomb Raider

When played with the maximum setting, Rise of The Tomb Raider is able to show the graphical display is so beautiful. However, when necessary, it can degrade the graphics quality to such a minimum. All that can be done this game in order to be played by all circles. Therefore we also feel optimistic that GT 710 can run this game pretty well. Before getting to what setting we will use, here are the minimum specifications to play it:

Processor: Intel Core i3-2100
Memory: 6 GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GTX 650 2GB or AMD HD7770 2GB
Storage: 25 GB

If you only see from Video Memory request only, GT 710 enter into the group can play. However, its ability to lag far behind the minimum graphics card to play it, which is about three times as much. Seeing the fact, we adjust the settings to the lowest conditions, namely 800 × 600 resolution with Lowest setting. In very low settings like this we estimate the frame rate will be very low. The question now is, can we play this game even though its performance value is very low? Here are the details of the settings we use to play this game:

At the lowest setting, we found this game can run quite smoothly. Although the image is so fragmented and looks like it is dominated by large pixels, but the game works pretty well; at least we can play it without stopping in the middle of the action. As for the size of the resulting frame rate, we found this game runs in the range of 16 to 25 fps. While when we are inside the cave, its value changes to the range of 18 to 30 fps.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate

Though roughly seen, Rise of The Tomb Raider is much heavier than Assassin’s Creed Syndicate when both run at the highest setting, but Syndicate is not as welcoming as Tomb Raider. Because, Syndicate does not have scaling ability like Tomb Raider! That’s why this game is actually much heavier to play in the lowest setting when using the same hardware. Moreover, added to the fact that this game requires a high frame rate because you often play in an environment that many moving objects or NPCs. Here are the minimum specifications for playing this game:

Processor: Intel Core i5 2400s @ 2.5 GHz / AMD FX 6350 @ 3.9 GHz
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 / AMD Radeon R9 270

Unfortunately, Syndicate does not have such a low resolution as Tomb Raider. So, we were forced to use 1280 × 720 resolution with Low and Antialiasing settings turned off. Just by looking at this considerable resolution alone we can already predict what kind of playing experience will be. Coupled with the many NPCs that roam, of course this game will lower its performance. The details of the settings we use to play this game can be found in the following screenshot:

It turned out that what we feared came true. Thanks to such a large resolution, the value of the frame rate we managed to meet only ranged from 9 to 14 fps. If the value is played at a low resolution, such as 800 × 600 as in Tomb Raider, there is the possibility of this game can still be played with relatively good. However, at a resolution of 1280 × 720? The playing experience we encountered was well below standard.

When we were among the NPC crowd, so low scores made the game screen transition slow. However, the problem does not seem to stop there. The playing experience we feel makes nausea and painful eyes. Although the fight is not so difficult to do, but the frame rate conditions generated when moving is not at all playable. We recommend not playing this game using the GT 710!

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3

The low performance shown in the two previous games is enough to make us worry when going to play this game. Because the game shooter with the first person’s camera will be quite difficult to play under substandard conditions. Even at a frame rate of 30 fps though, shooter games will certainly be difficult to play, especially to target enemies quickly. Will the condition be happening here? Previously, here are the minimum specifications to play:

Repeating the settings we used for the previous game, we set the resolution to the lowest position, which is 800 × 600 and setting it to Low. In the setting, of course we turn off all light effects, such as Dynamic Shadows and Subsurface Scattering. In addition, Antialiasing also we turn off to get additional frame rate. Ambient Occlusion and Motion Blur of course we turn it off. The various settings we use to play this game can be found in the following screenshot:

Prosesor: Intel Core i3-530 @ 2.93 GHz / AMD Phenom II X4 810 @ 2.60 GHz
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 @ 1GB / ATI Radeon HD 6970 @ 1GB
Storage: 60 GB

The result, this game can run with a frame rate of about 25 to 30 fps. The value is so mediocre it was enough to affect the experience we play. When going to target the enemy without using a scope, crosshair movement is less responsive and not so fast. Whereas when using scope, especially on sniper, its value decreased drastically to 17 fps. Even when the enemy is only one in the scope, the value is unchanged.

Weather and light conditions also greatly affect the experience of playing this game. In the dark and dusk areas, the frame rate is still at 30 fps. However, when the afternoon is more severe than the dark conditions. In addition, when the game runs fast, like when driving a Hovercraft, the frame rate can drop to 10 fps. This makes shooting much more difficult. Apparently, fast shooter games like Black Ops 3 will be hard to play well on the GT 710.

Conclusion

Nvidia GT 710 is the latest graphics card for economical class that is very affordable. When we use to play the latest games, it seems that he is only able to run it on the lowest limit only. We think it’s natural, considering the price is not proportional to its ability is not intended for gaming AAA caliber. However, we prove that the GT 710 is still capable of playing games, although for certain games, such as Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, we do not recommend it for disturbing the game. But interestingly, the standard that he can still be able to run games with heavy engines like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt within framerate limits that may still be tolerated by some gamers can be a benchmark of this VGA ability for lighter games, especially games which you often find in Game Center.
